Alex Irby

Board Member of TYL Non-Profit Group

I am from Lugoff, SC where I graduated from Lugoff-Elgin H.S. for the Class of 2017. After High School I enrolled to Clemson University to study Biology with an emphasis in Pre-Rehabilitation, ultimately obtaining a B.A. Degree in Biological Sciences in 2021. I will enroll in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program this year, 2023, with the goals of becoming a licensed physical therapist. During my collegiate career, I became a member of Beta Upsilon Chi, a Christian fraternity. During this time I served as a diversity, equity, and inclusion chair for the organization. During my senior year I also served as a diversity, equity, and inclusion ambassador for all of Greek life at Clemson University.

What does TYL mean to me?

TYL to me means using the knowledge I’ve gained from my experiences and being able to pour them in to the next generation. My goal is to serve as many communities as I can, any capacity I can, to make a substantial impact. TYL to me is the perfect vehicle to be able to fulfill my desire to create opportunities for as many people, especially the youth, as I can.
